Fishing for a better one!

On a Saturday, you head Riverside for fishing. Beautiful sky, great weather with good company makes it a perfect vacation.

After 2-3 hours of patience game, you finally catch a fish... Its not the prized salmon or any of its kind but a simple river fish. Though you aimed high, you are happy with this catch as its a fruit of your hard earned labor.

Suppose, this river had a rule that you could have only 1 fish on your boat...

Would you head home with your fruit of Labor OR Throw this fish and hope to catch a better one - as they say "there's lot many fish in the Sea"

It feels like some of life's decisions are also decided based on above answer. The choices you make determines your way of life. As in Kaminey movie "Life ki Watt ussey nahi lagti ki tumne kaunsa rasta liya hai, lagti hai kaunsa rasta choda hai!"

"Why do you keep loving someone who doesn't love you back? There are tons of fish in the Sea"

All I can say is "Just because it's also water, would you drink from the sea?"

Happy Friday!

Barfi! - sweetness of life!

It's 2am, yet my dream train has not yet arrived. An impromptu trip to watch Barfi has reignited emotions which were dormant for many days/ months & even years. Now, both my mind and heart are trying to sort out how to get my dream train back on track... Looks like it is going to be looong night...

Barfi reinstates the fact that Love is indeed blind. It does not care,
# if you are mute, as eyes can express what words can't.
# if you are deaf, as a sense of touch can make you understand what your ears can't hear
# if you are handicapped - mentally or physically as once you are in love, you don't care if your love is fat or skinny, sexy or ugly ... It just doesn't matter !!! ... Your mind starts to connect with their heart that you don't care about materialistic outer appearence but the truth inside!

When autistic Jhilmil feels jealous about Shruti's presence around Barfi, her possession when they reunite makes you wonder that Love does bring about jealousy and possessiveness though you don't wish for it. Your heart skips a beat when they are not around or they are with someone else. Though you feel happy about their life, work where your are not around but it does boil you a bit when you realize they do have a life outside your circle. As long as you can extinguish this spark before it starts flaming your heart, you are good. As they say "Jiyo aur Jeene do", you live as you like and let me live my way!

The other side of the coin is that if you are in their shoes, you tend to expect that jealousy and possessiveness. It always feels good when someone feels possessive about you and are little jealous (harmless) of your close friends. It makes you feel that someone cares for you!

Barfi also stalls my dream train as it tells you to follow your heart & be less materialistic. It also tells you that love need not be equal on both sides. The reason for love will not be same at both ends and in some unfortunate cases, you are just alone in love! And yet, like Shruti, you can continue to love Barfi though he may not reciprocate in similar fashion.

I guess, there is no end to this rant about love. Life moves on, time flies by... Do what you love, this way atleast you are happy!... It is like buying a gift for a friend, don't try to buy what they may like, buy something what you like... Someone remains content & happy at the end!

I need to follow what I preached and try to catch a bus to sleep... Will catch the Dream train some other day, probably tomorrow ;-)

Expectations - aisa maine socha

A great weekend trip to Deception Pass with sunny weather, and a with good friend, his wife & 5 month prince charming. On our way back, I noticed we were changing lanes on the freeway at 60 miles/hr, suddenly to realize we were not changing lanes but my friend
who was driving had fallen asleep!!! ... Within a minute of commotion everything was back to normal and I had a big sigh of relief and I guess I am scarred for life & will be always attentive when someone else is driving...

I only "expected" that my friend will never sleep on the wheel... I guess, all accident victims who survive to tell the tale say that they never "expected" the other car to hit them.

Last Friday, my teammate dressed up in shorts & cycled up to office. It turned out to be highest rainfall ever recorded in Seattle & poor guy had to drive back on his cycle. He never "expected" weather to change so quickly!!

Obama's parents did not "expect" that their son would president of America nor did Osama's mom  "expect" that her son would be most wanted person on the planet!!

When Life is so unexpected, why do we have/set/assume expectations from others. You may love someone but it doesn't mean you start to "expect" that they would also love you back!.. It goes with Hate too, you may hate someone but they might be liking you.

Yaada yaada yaada... No matter how clear my thoughts are, heart still has a ray of hope. I am born with expectations and always finding ways to grow beyond others expectations but that doesn't mean I need to start expecting the same from others. Its like you
don't travel in 3AC expecting some hot one traveling with you, if it does happen the element of surprise wins over zero expectations...

Live with zero expectations from God, family, friends, wife, girlfriend s and everyone & everything else... Whatever good that comes your way will keep you happy!!
